@DrDavid_Leonard @veggieequallife @Kathleenwenade1 Having doctors do nothing but complex cases also leads to increased mental fatigue, mistakes and burn out rates (this applies to any interventional specialty where this argument is being used as a case for PAs…)
@UKGastroDr Interventional med. specialties are also extremely competitive & we’re expected to be involved in research, audits etc (on top of exams) to build CV to get into gastro HST. Didn’t do my first OGD until 9yrs post grad. And we have GIM commitments that compete with training time!
