Our previous rescue cat was so deranged we had an animal psychologist visit during my pregnancy and she taught us a lot.They’re obv not simple minded hibernating animals. I think ppl underestimate how much attention and play they actually need for wellbeing. Like even regular play, they need a treat or some food after to feel fulfilled they’ve caught their prey. They need to be played with everyday and climbing/privacy is essential. I think it’s easy to forget because they have a litter box, but yes. Having a cat is a huge responsibility especially if indoor. If it were up to me, I’d build shelving so he could climb up as he likes but a good tall tree is kind of the minimum and energetic play / reward every day multiple times a day!
