@seanHPN The fifa comp of our WC goals really highlighted that we have some absolute bangers (which we've added two) in our history, and then nearly all the other goals are pens
@sleeplesshockey One of my pet peeves is the AFL world forgetting that the AFL initially took neck injuries more seriously than concussions, starting from blake caracella's broken neck in 2006. Unfortunately an injury like this was bound to happen with how much it has fallen off the agenda
@CapitalCityCody I always like how the old timers never say anything bad about the drop punt. Whenever a bad drop punt gets attention they'll usually speak about the ball drop, without acknowledging that the ball drop is part of the reason why the snap is a better option in some caes!
Retired rugby league champion Jai Arrow will take centre stage at the MCG this King’s Birthday as the sporting community rallies behind the 30-year-old following his recent motor neurone disease (MND) diagnosis.
In a powerful cross-code tribute, the former State of Origin representative will head to the MCG as a special guest of Collingwood, where he will toss the coin before the Magpies’ blockbuster clash against Melbourne.

@EmlynBreese I've been fighting the fight with Essendon fans for nearly 13 years now. I remember reading through the ASADA document the night it was released and knowing we were fucked on Thymosin. But anyway, the easiest article anyone could write is just going through the Asada doc
@sleeplesshockey Also it's a totally silly chart anyway, most of these are the core 15 to 20 positions (slip cordon, cover/point/square leg/mid on/off etc) and then basically adjectives for the above core positions (long/forward/short/silly). No-one ever says go to deep forward square leg.
@lukehgomes That doesn't conflict Ken's point...? Collingwood won a bunch of coin tosses in a row. It happens, but nearly every sport in the world have nerds that have shown winning close games is just a coin toss ie Hockey https://t.co/srmGZQFxZs and AFL https://t.co/fKMFf936AJ
@EmlynBreese I think the unsaid issue is that the AFL can't get access to Adelaide Oval before March 15 in any year, and next year they can't get access to the MCG either, so it has to be in WA. Guess they didn't want to repeat it with VIC
@EmlynBreese it's amazing that we have 17 footy shows a week all of which complain about how no-one knows what HTB is and not one of them has a regular weekly segment saying here's what was and wasn't HTB in the last round
@onepercentas we should tell the AFL we'd probably see more chase down tackles if we actually made players bounce every 15M instead of the current way, which seems to be a mixture of have they gone more than 15M _and_ have they been running for more than 5 seconds
@onepercentas In this McGrath does have prior, there's no doubt there, but equally, we see those hand-balls called play on all the time. Anyway, imo the strictness/quickness with chase down tackles ultimately leads to people thinking the Darling one should have been HTB which is a problem
@onepercentas 3:28 left in the third, 35/78. He's possibly been called for throwing but broadly it's part of an interesting category of HTB for me, run-down/chase tackles which umpires can be super red hot on even though if prior isn't really there (1/2)
@allan_cheapshot@davemeltzerWON To give a recent example, the recent Apple TV show about a Korean family in Japan, Pachinko, had a Rikidozan toy in like the first 10 mins of the first ep
