The way SA Rugby has been able to streamline talent coupled with the changes in school boy rugby, I genuinely believe the Springboks have the potential to be 1/2 in the world for the next 10 years if continued.
Thing I find the most interesting about these conversations around Salmaan is over & over people with huge amounts of IP, experience and knowledge vouch for him YET every single person who lacks those above mentioned things seems to believe it’s some sort of conspiracy.
Springboks are over powering them in every single aspect of the contact area & set piece. Italy are going to be STRUGGLING in the second half. Meanwhile comms are telling fans the Boks seem to have no idea & lack creativity
Quite frustrating - don’t think SA production & media understand how much they could contribute to the growth of the game, by a much more informative, engaging and slick commentary, pre & post game setup.
Loads of smart people who could bring people in, not there unfortunately.
Comms are wrong. Boks are deliberately narrow - and it’s working incredibly well? winning gainline on every carry. Italy aren’t even trying to tackle properly, throwing a shoulder in and hoping. Disciple in the pits too. Boks are turning the screw, second half will be ugly.
1. I think there needs to be a significant discussion about the Ireland captaincy and know I'll probably get a bit of flak for this.
POM is the current captain and I think he generally manages the relationship with the refs fairly well.
I’m not sure people realise just how good Cameron Hanekom is and how high his ceiling is…
Only 21 years old and has the potential to be a complete player. Breakdown, carrying, you name it.
it's really stunning the way mainstream commentary is completely incapable of recognizing the difference between players 'not applying themselves' and players being indecisive because they're not well coached
While we scrutinized the (raw) tactical breakdowns of this loss post-game, Pep’s immediate response was to the players. The humans.
Not the stick figures on a tactics board.
‘They are starving. You are not.’
‘Sports, life is body language.
This is how Arsenal would have looked if Arteta tried to play open with Arsenal during his first years. Few Arsenal supporters got it, rest of the football world thought he was setting cones up in at City.
We now see the other side of the coin, and how it also outrages
American sports culture is CRAZY.
Imagine interviewing a player who beat you in a playoff game in which your team ‘choked’. Crazy crazy times we’re living in.
Listen to Jordan Love when he says “y’all Linebackers”
A lot of y’all mad at Micah but this interview is great content and brutally honest.
The Packers knew Dallas was soft anytime a first year Qb is laughing at the LB room
I’m sorry but just because Barry John was arguably the greatest flyhalf of the amateur era does not for one second change the fact that his opinion that ‘players nowadays just want to run into each other’ is complete and utter nonsense 🤷♂️
Ireland dominates the rugby world tonight. Truly fantastic win for them away in France. This game delivered on a promise. With rugby being on such a massive high with the World Cup, the documentaries, rebranded tournaments etc It truly is a blessing to be alive as a fan right now
Gumemde would thrive if he switched to the Gallagher premiership. Player profile wise he’s such a unicorn, similar to guys like Wiese, Botia,
If guys like Alfie Barberry are getting + number of carries for top sides like Bath, a profile & player like Gumede would dom.
