@underlaanndd@dgramr Sure they were, but a lot of the memes were a direct response to people freaking out about it. He spent his life being a mouthpiece of hate and died for what he believed in. That still doesn't mean any of those individuals approve the act and want it seen repeated
@BanAllBooks As to why they made the choices they did in particular I don't really know. But it was mentioned it might aggravate the tiger and make it worse
@seadive Hasn't there been some stories about how tigers and such don't usually hunt humans but something makes them get a taste for it? Obviously not in this case but still
Police have not publicly identified the man killed at Yorkshire Wildlife Park or confirmed any details about a disability or medical condition. No official statement mentions autism or a handicap.
That circulating narrative that being autistic somehow means you are mentally incapable of knowing a tiger (or lion) is not a pet is condescending, ableist, and factually false.
Autism is a spectrum. The vast majority of autistic people understand basic cause-and-effect, predator-prey dynamics, and the difference between a domestic cat and a 200–300 kg apex predator that can kill you in seconds. They know fences, barriers, and warning signs exist for a reason.
Treating the diagnosis as a blanket excuse for ignoring obvious lethal danger reduces autistic adults to perpetual children who cannot grasp reality.
Witness accounts and circulating footage describe an adult man who spoke, asked people for a photo with the tiger, appeared agitated, and deliberately entered the enclosure.
He was not a non verbal toddler who wandered through an unlocked gate by accident.
Even if autism were later confirmed , it would not erase agency or the basic knowledge that large carnivores are dangerous. Many autistic people work, drive, manage money, and correctly assess risks every day. The idea that the diagnosis automatically erases that capacity is a myth that both underestimates autistic adults and is routinely weaponised online to reframe reckless or intentional acts as pure victimhood.
Sympathy for the family is appropriate, but I don’t have any empathy for this poor Man who has died.
Inventing an unverified medical narrative to claim “he couldn’t possibly have known better is not.
@BenGrahamUK Euthanizing the tigers will just have two bodies buried instead of one, it would be pointless and express a lack of critical thinking in favor of short term emotions
@johnpaul_newman Why not? They kill all sorts of shit in the wild. Also that adds to the value. They should double the price in accordance with the animals body count
@TheDividedStat3 1: This person believes Jesus is the Christ and was the son of God and the whole 9 yards
2: this person is probably going to call me a slur
@CishetKris This is how it is the vast majority of the time, it needs to be good enough and done by a certain time not world record perfect done whenever you're ready

@SteveIsQuiteBig@JihadalHaqq An analogy relies on something having similar aspects to another but the aspect at hand is too different than the comparison because having ADHD doesn't have fatal consequences on its own. They're not really close enough to say "look, it's just like this example"
@LocalBateman Minecraft bedrock was made as a result of the enhanced interrogation program reserved for it's worst people. 4 hours a day and after 2 days they give in immediately
