@CaitlinCloud9 Don't worry, supporting the homeless population is as simple as being elected to office so that you can claim you're trying.
Then, when you fail to deal with the affordable housing or mental health issues, you blame the opposition for preventing solutions, and win!
Who's paying you for this narrative. WSJ tried to play the Austin is Over angle, about a year ago. For the sake of integrity in journalism, don't make the same mistake.
Sure, Austin is more expensive. And summer in Texas is only for the insane. It's easy to spin that it's not as great as it seems... It is not easy to pretend it isn't booming.
@ProducerCities Dig deeper ๐ That coincides with the peak of unaffordability... that what happened isn't a decline after 2021 but the fact that the data is only Austin Metro (which is incredibly misleading). Sprawl accelerated and both employers and people started moving TO but beyond Austin.
An MVP is and always was to prove you did the marketing to determine what to build, and that it would be valuable.
Stop building without that signal, evident in the immediate adoption and growth of an MVP.
Right but you're implying government is best suited to make a technical decision in a world where such things are becoming free. That's never been the case, application has always accelerated on the private sector because of experienced optimization.
How is the data provided necessary to the decisions about office use?
Samsung is moving its U.S. headquarters to its existing campus in Plano, Texas.
Samsung Electronics America is abandoning its brand-new, 270,000 SF North Jersey headquarters after just eight months to consolidate operations in Plano, Texas.
The abrupt exit of 1,000 corporate jobs reignites the bitter debate over New Jerseyโs hostile business climate.
@ostalugo@data_atx Why can't it scale to more variables?
No one is making a decision here. We're eliminating expensive software to save Austin and taxpayers money. We should be making every effort possible to do that, shouldn't we?
@ostalugo@data_atx Yes, I know that's what matters most. How is that data provided? API? Spreadsheets?
I didn't use anything but the image, that's a POC. With proof of the concept, we add real data to create the MVP. If that works, and it will, you close the gaps.
@ChrisJBakke Point of order โ๏ธ
Do we also still have to pay the highest prices in the world for Affordable Healthcare or can we do something to fix that?
@ostalugo@data_atx It doesn't need a POC, it's obviously possible. Here are 3 maximizations of that floor plan. Took me 5 minutes.
Give me a sense of what such software needs to do. Clearly, I'm not claiming this is perfect or what you need but we don't have to prove any concept. What's missing?
@Jason_A_Scharf@data_atx@KirkPWatson Can't believe I'm just being this ๐คฃ I literally built a career on marketing Austin better than itself, while council members and employees turned their nose up at me when I offered to help.
How much are we spending on Austin Marketing?!
Cut it all, start a task force ๐
@data_atx Are you s****** me @austintexasgov ?! You can ask AI that for free ๐คฃ
@data_atx who owns the company providing that insanely expensive software?
