Has anyone else noticed that the SERPs seem to be immediately personalized, including results that match very recent queries (last hour)? And they're pretty good at it! #SEO#algorithm#SearchEngineOptimization
@KESQ It looks like it's the coffee place, Miracle Ear, and the Reverse Mortgage place. Probably Papa Dan's, too, given the report of 4 businesses and the location of the fire KESQ's viewer-submitted video.
@rustybrick On March 14 I saw my reviews content drop in rankings. Starting April 9, it's starting to shoot back up. Ahead of what I always considered ho-hum reviews. Fingers crossed it runs a few more days at least!
@lilyraynyc I think SEOs think about search and accuracy differently than regular people.
A successful friend of mine just saw his first one: "EBITDA multiples for dental tool company" โย he <3 his results. I asked if he would still love them if they were 30% false/inaccurate. He said yes.
@rebekah_creates Reading through the comments and your replies, I wouldn't be looking at on-page signals as carefully as I'd be looking at other signals. What do you do with social? What about forums/Reddit?
Also, is this a Local Pack, Local Finder, or 10-blue links issue?
@thatkatieberry @rebekah_creates@mrkenlewis A few groups did deeper research into this. It's really only a problem if people are searching when @rebekah_creates client is closed and others are open. And even then there's plenty of evidence to say it's not a real problem because closed businesses do appear in Local Pack.
"Businesses with a primary revenue stream based on arbitrage โ search-driven advertising revenue โ are frankly โdoomed,โ she says."
Thanks for finding my ideas useful, @DigiFrontier and @CharKrol!
@JohnMu Has Google's guidance on affiliate links changed officially? When rel sponsored was first introduced it was optional as long as rel nofollow is in place. Is rel sponsored now required for affiliate links? Please and thank you. https://t.co/Rpe9QGOiEA
@glenngabe I think it's time to stop assuming affiliate content is a problem for search. Most major websites now monetize with affiliate (Wirecutter, Cnet, CNN, etc.). The problem is how many affiliates happen to use shady tactics because they're okay with scamming their way to $.

#SEO peeps! What does it mean to you when every major update leaves your site and competitors' rankings mostly unchanged? Is the SEO broken or is the Google broken?

It's hard (for me) to read this amazingly useful article. I've been an independent affiliate marketer in a hyperniche since 2009. News like this (while obvious since 2020) feels like getting stomped on by @Google. @detailedcom@ViperChill https://t.co/Y3lBJ5pWCu
