@SpencerSeverino 2/2 blocking the action. If he had taken the traditional approach of a veto, then some Reps would have to vote to over ride-risking his wrath. I'm just trying to think -- why would he, surrounded by intelligent sycophant advisors, say I didn't need to this?
@SpencerSeverino 1/2 Been thinking about your Tweet all day -- what if he's not? What if he's playing chess instead of (like many people assume) checkers? One of the advantages of his strategy is he, in the eyes of his base, did deliver on his campaign promise, but dem Dems (led by a woman!)
@SpencerSeverino The question is why? To show his base he's fightin' for 'em? Or direct the news cycle away from something else? Or face saving because he know's it would never pass?
My @msnbc colleague @AriMelber makes a brilliant point about the obvious (and therefore easy to miss) flaw in @realDonaldTrump’s “national emergency” threat: it’s not an “emergency” if you claim that you can declare it at your leisure!
Huge error for the Bears to call the timeout when they did...should have spiked the ball and saved the timeout to perhaps advance the ball to the middle of the field to call TO and get Parkey closer...
The only thing sweeter than eliminating the Cardinals from the baseball postseason (2015 Cubs) is winning a game that takes the division title AND at the same time eliminates the Packers from playoff contention. Merry Christmas Cheeseheads!
As terrific as Nagy has been in his rookie season his judgement in hugely important situations, from GB to Miami to The Meadowlands to today on that fake punt has been seriously flawed and costly.
Seems a little too similar to the game down in Miami the Bears gave away. Dont need to show how smart you are to beat these Giants. Nagy and Daniel gave NYG all 10 of their first half points.
The NFL tries its damndest to legislate defense out...and these Bears defenders keep giving the legislators a wonderful middle finger...this is football The Chicago Way...
