the movie made Ron and Hermione’s first kiss about adrenaline after destroying a Horcrux. The book made it about character growth.

Ron suddenly realizes the house-elves are still in the kitchens and says they need to get them out because they shouldn’t be forced to die for them. After years of mocking Hermione’s obsession with house-elf rights, that’s what finally makes her drop everything and kiss him. 😭

it wasn’t just a romantic moment. it was Ron finally understanding something Hermione had been fighting for the entire time. And honestly, that makes the book version so much better.
