@Morbidful Steve Irwin's son, Robert Irwin, becomes the first person to breed and hatch a turtle species his Dad discovered, and now he takes them out for their first swim.
During a tour of the Florida Everglades on June 12, 2012, Wallace Weatherhold, a 63-year-old airboat captain, encountered a 9-foot alligator while guiding an Indiana family.
In an effort to attract the alligator and entertain the tourists, Weatherhold dangled a fish over the side of his airboat.
The alligator lunged for the fish, but unfortunately ended up biting off Weatherhold's hand in the process.
Following the incident, FWC officers located and euthanized the alligator.
Weatherhold's hand was discovered in the alligator's stomach, but regrettably, reattachment was simply not possible.
Weatherhold faced arrest and a potential fine of up to $500, along with a possible jail sentence for unlawfully feeding an alligator.
