Leadership in the #HIDOE808
means being part of a team of committed and collaborative educators working on a common goal - student success and empowerment! Leadership cannot rest on the shoulders of just one or two individuals. We are a team Hawaii!
@Lead_HI
It is great to be part of a school team where collaboration conversations are taking place, especially in Tuesday and Thursday in PLC’s. @Lead_HI#datateams#raisethebar
My leadership commitment for SY22-23. Never forgetting that “students are our most precious commodity. Without them, we don’t have a job.” - Jimmy Casas. #HICISL
Hā-amazing day at Wailua River with #Kapa’aElementary School faculty and staff, including office and custodial!! Spent the day learning about the cultural history of Wailuanuiaho’ano and team building/connectedness/sense of belonging around the Wa’a. #ne’papa #HICISL#na’hopena
When children enter kindergarten, more explicit and systematic instruction in foundational skills begins and underlies virtually all reading, writing, and communication tasks a learner will encounter. - Hawaii State Literacy Plan. @Lead_HI.
@DaganBernstein@PerttuPolonen To be "present ready" and "future ready" is having the ability to adapt and change course at any given moment. Having the critical skills and mental processing to solve the problems that are here NOW and those that have yet to come.

@DaganBernstein Most likely to succeed to me is having the mindset that I (we) will succeed. Its pushing through and taking risks and knowing that failure and growth is part of the process

@alicekeeler I agree with one of the comments, there is not a perfect online curriculum. Some though like Edmentun or Amplify are better than others. Maybe teachers should unite to write our own? 🤔
@alicekeeler We discontinued Acellus this year. It was quite the community and teacher outcry to do so. My personal opinion is it is Culturally insensitive curriculum among other inappropriate and low level instruction.
