Trauma brings silence because it feels like there are no words to really describe what happened. Many times people need us to sit with them in silence. It is a way of joining with them so they are not alone in their experience of struggling to find words.
You cannot damage anyone, and even more so a malleable child, and have that damage erased by a few words. Working with the traumatized is a ministry of restraint, of slowing down and of little by little. It is a small taste of our Almighty God becoming flesh on our behalf.
Caregivers, encourage trauma survivors wrestling with overwhelming emotions to do restorative things with safe people in their lives. Going for a walk and making a note of the beauty that is seen, listening to music, doing aerobic exercise can help quiet the mind & rest the body.
@MontonnyHonny I love this and what an impact you have had on lil Josh. You have been a part of his growth and development as a human. What an honor and a privilege!❤️❤️
Remember that, if you are ever so forward and clever yourselves, you should always be modest; for, much as you know already, there is a great deal more for you to learn.
