( with an unwavering resolve, her eyes opened with a startling quickness as she flash-froze the other's fingertips. )
I do believe that's quite enough. you'd only shorten your own life fighting against a spirit.
(That intense gaze turning into a half-scowl, as the other continues.)
I said...
(Hand moving down, to rest atop the hilt of the sheathed blade at her side.)
𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵. 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦.
I do not need to. the trials of modern day man pale in comparison to the era from which I hail.... ehem. but that's another story. I shall withhold any further such words.
( a low huff, turning her head away with a shy look. )
(A drag of her cigarette interrupted halfway through, upon hearing some of those words.. Looking up at her, brow furrowed.)
...I won't pretend to know exactly what you've gone through. So let's not assume to know what /I/ have or haven't seen, and done.
(Finishing that drag...)
( another low hum, as she seemed to watch them in what they did after... for one, she had never seen such a contraption, and for another... well, that's not important. )
don't give up, hm? easy for someone like you to say. but I suppose if anything's worth doing, do it right.
Unfortunately, I can’t make that determination for you.
(Once the temperature was stable again, she’d reach into her coat pocket… Pulling out a cigarette case, lighting one, and pressing it to her lips.)
Wouldn’t give up on it, though.
( a low hum... before taking a slow inhalation of air. slowly, the temperature rises back to a temperate level. )
I will... consider it, I suppose. not that there are many here who seem like they could handle sharing in one's troubles.
(A little chill running across her skin- Goosebumps forming. A thicker fog coming out of her mouth as she breathes...)
...Right, just consider what I say, or you'll manage to burn yourself in that icy-cage of yours.
I guess? I never much paid attention to the sort before, but recently I've been a bit more health and wellness conscious...
though, I wish I could eat sweets every now and then, too....
( the air, already a frigid chill, seemed to drop even further. )
please don't take this the wrong way, but I would be very grateful if we stopped talking about this...
( not just seeming distant, but uncomfortable. like she cannot control herself. )
Hm…
I can’t make you do a damned thing. But isolating and distancing yourself- physically and emotionally- will only make whatever burden you have grow in a tempest of guilt.
it need not be so. to ruin another with troubles of a long forgotten era...
no, that is not my burden to share. it is my cross to bear.
and I will mind you I speak just normally, thank you very much!
just one too many...?
I think I'm suddenly grateful that the survivalist lifestyle doesn't engorge me on food, lest I stop fitting into my leotards. (💧)
the cold, the warm.. both sides appeal to me.
lock myself away with ice, as to never let another failure stain my honor again.
let the flames burn high, and let vengeance destroy everything that stands before me.
this inner turmoil... that is what I think of as a burden.
(The woman's breath visible as she exhales, now .)
I think /everyone/ wishes to be a better person then they were in days before.
It's silly to think that notion makes you more of a burden to trainers.
having a trainer would be such trouble... after all, that would mean saddling them with the insufficient mess that is me.
I must steel myself and train harder, so one day the echoes of my past won't chain me down...
