The fact that it got to the point where IU is crying at a fan event and Byeon Woo-seok is writing handwritten apologies is just insane.
The blame should not be falling this heavily on the actors. Actors are there to act they aren’t historians.
They should not be the shield for a lazy production team. They trusted the writers and directors to do their jobs. The actors are not the ones who wrote the script or designed the coronation scene the production team did. What are they apologizing for ?

genuinely annoys me is how iu and bws became the faces of the backlash when the issue was clearly rooted in production decisions. actors do not singlehandedly oversee the script review process, historical verification, editing, directing, broadcasting approvals, and final cuts of an entire drama. that responsibility falls on mbc, the production team, writers, and everyone involved behind the scenes.
yet somehow the cast got turned into public punching bags for weeks while the people actually responsible stayed mostly untouched in the background. iu and bws apologizing and carrying all that heat for something they didn’t even have full control over is genuinely insane to me.
