Allegedly made by Daguerre himself, one of the pioneers of photography, in the 1840s.
The dog was called Médor.
I'm being cautious as it's difficult to confirm these claims there's not much information.
BUT he was a good boy, fact.

#OTD in 1943, USS Gurnard (SS-254) snuck into Tokyo Bay where the crew took a photo of Mount Fuji through the periscope. The crew then had Christmas dinner as the Imperial Japanese Navy patrolled above them. Submariners are a different breed.

There is a story I have been meaning to tell for a while. During the Afghan evacuation operation, a girl arrived at Al Dhafra airbase, exhausted, with an unusual possession: a bird. She had fought all the way at Kabul airport, to bring the treasured little thing with her.

This is Lepa Radić, a 17-year-old Yugoslav partisan who was sentenced to death for shooting at Nazis. When she was offered a way out of the gallows if she revealed the names of her comrades, she declined, saying they'd reveal themselves when they came to avenge her death.
