Mosaic is one of the earliest works created through Bitcoin Art Society’s vision of exploring Bitcoin as a medium for art.
What began as a collective experiment in transforming Bitcoin’s smallest units into creative expression has evolved into a collaborative piece shaped by hundreds of participants.
Today, Mosaic consists of 245 unique artworks created from 127,533,285 satoshis contributed by the community, with each piece permanently preserved on Bitcoin.
Each contribution carries its own story and place within the larger composition. Together, they form a collective artwork: a permanent record of human participation, where Bitcoin’s data and human intent converge into something entirely new.
Bitcoin is more than a currency - it's a movement.

THE ART WE COULD NOT SAVE
On September 2, 2018, a fire spread through the National Museum of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
Founded in 1818, the institution held one of the most significant collections of natural history and cultural heritage in Latin America.
Its archives contained millions of objects: archaeological artifacts, scientific specimens, ethnographic materials, documents, and works of historical importance.
In a matter of hours, much of this accumulated knowledge was lost.
The museum’s collection represented more than objects. It embodied centuries of research, classification, and cultural memory.
The building could not preserve what it held.
Bitcoin cannot stop a fire. But it can give art, provenance, and cultural memory a permanent home.
Bitcoin Art Society exists to make sure the art of our time is not left as vulnerable as the art we could not save.
