An inland trough of low pressure is situated over NE Mexico. Development is not expected over the next day or so. However, conditions are marginally conducive for tropical development Wednesday into Thursday, with a medium 40% chance in 48 hrs and 50% in 7 days. #RGVwx #txwx

The latest update from the NHC still holds at a low chance (10%) for development in the western Gulf. 🌧 Whether there is development near the RGV or not, rain chances will increase this weekend through early next week.

[11:25 AM | 6/10/26] Colorado State University has updated its 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season Forecast, lowering the expected number of named storms to 11 and hurricanes to 5. The forecast still calls for 2 major hurricanes (Cat. 3 or stronger).

[7:00 AM | 6/10/26] The National Hurricane Center, has highlighted the Bay of Campeche under a low chance for formation. Remnant moisture from T.S. Cristina in the Pacific will bring in a chance for scattered rain into the RGV this weekend, and early next week.
