@SimonDixonTwitt how many more "accidental" bugs do you think they'll find in zec zkp systems?
when a new zkp system is being routinely deployed, it's another opportunity for more bugs to sneak in.
A private coin supply you can't audit is a leap of faith.
Decred doesn't ask you to take that leap.
No one can follow the money — but everyone can count it.
Private. Verifiable. Trustless.
@JasonBassler1 part of me wonders if the video was made as an explicit psyop to convince ppl to not figure out how to disable these systems.
they can indeed be disabled for gm vehicles, but every manufacturer may vary.
@Awnye5 i do not, but i suspect this goes back to at least 2010, if not earlier.
the telemetry/surveillance system on gms is called onstar, and if you have onstar, it's phoning home.
if you can use onstar to make a call, the system is hot.
when i did this the first time, i was planning to disconnect the antenna leads at a minimum, but i was able to fully remove the cell modem card, which is a lot better.
the 2026 gm i did recently had the modem integrated into the mainboard, so i had to pull power to the whole board.
