New GTA 6 side activity details have been revealed: - Jason and Lucia can gain weight by eating too much, although it requires eating quite a lot. Muscle can also be lost if players stop maintaining it. - Sleep quality is tracked, with being well rested affecting the regeneration of certain attributes. Going too long without sleep can also result in slower regeneration and visible bags under the characters’ eyes. - Fishing is as in-depth as RDR2, according to Rob Nelson, but uses a catch-and-release system, meaning caught fish cannot be taken with you. - Hunting can be used to make money and is connected to a character who knows Jason. - Jason and Lucia can work out together at gyms, with their partner exercising alongside them. Working out together can also function as an “emergent date” and contribute to their relationship. - Players may need to purchase memberships to use certain gyms. During the preview, Jason and Lucia signed up at the front desk before working out. - Energy drinks and coffee can temporarily boost stamina during workouts, allowing players to complete more reps before running out of stamina. - Weightlifting uses L2 and R2 to control movements, while stamina drains throughout each set. Only three exercises are needed to complete a workout for the day. - Strength training increases health, while cardio and other activities can increase overall stamina. - Gyms feature several usable exercises and equipment, including bench presses, lat pulldowns, treadmills, punching bags and squats. Changing rooms are also available, with players reportedly able to change into gym clothes. - Fishing can be done for fun and is also connected to narrative content, collectibles and challenges. - Basketball requires players to aim at the hoop and time their shot using R2. Making shots may also contribute to the Focus stat. - While swimming, the stamina meter changes into a lung capacity meter. GTA 6 also features an oxygen meter while underwater. - Wyman has a classic car collection activity where players collect car parts around the map and bring them back to him, eventually creating cars that can be kept and driven. - GTA 6 features multiple types of racing, including track racing, underground street racing and off-road racing with both cars and bikes. Nitrous is also available. - Kayaking can be turned into a date activity between Jason and Lucia. - Pool and mini golf are among the returning activities, while wrestling, parachuting, shooting ranges, scuba diving and kayaking have also been shown. - Players can visit places such as nightclubs, strip clubs and a zoo during their downtime, with activities like visiting the zoo also potentially serving as dates. - Rockstar hired animators to create numerous in-game TV shows that players can watch.
