Many rushed to shame @DukeU for what happened today, at the Graduation ceremony - a bunch of pro-palestine students booed Jerry Seinfeld and left before his speech. I know from personal sources that Duke handled exemplary the whole anti-jewish ordeal. There were no encampments, even if outsiders came and tried- they got arrested immediately, along with one teacher who led them, per the University instant request. If there is one elite US University where Jewish students were not blocked, mocked, harassed or shout at, that would be Duke. Because the President, the faculty, the board members and the strong jewish community there made it very clear from the very beginning that they will not tolerate any form of hate, nor vandalism, antisemitism, foreign( terrorist) flags, masks or anything that led to disaster in so many American Universities. Also, the quality of the majority of students and teachers might have helped - they’ve never shouted “Intifada”, “genocide”, “death to America” or other nonsenses. Because they were well informed and well educated.
The famous @JerrySeinfeld managed to deliver a refreshing graduation speech, funny, meaningful, without politics and, most important, without a single interruption. The students who left in a very rude way, about 30 of them, did so not to free palestine, but because, on their graduation day, they could finally express their antisemitism, without consequences. They didn’t like to hear a Jewish speaking…
Too bad they are about to get some good jobs with a prestigious diploma …from Duke.
The good news - thousands attended the ceremony, listening with respect and joy, having fun. Jerry can have that effect on the smart people.

Honestly, i want to ask you this question: do you genuinely think that a party that believes it’s policies have no impact on the cost of living, or that a president has no role to play in the ease of doing business, can deliver progress and prosperity to the Nigerian people?

And if this is the best among them, you have to be terrified at how worse things are likely to get for Nigerians.

No wonder they don’t care that millions of Nigerians are at the brink of starvation. No wonder they don’t care that millions will die because they cannot afford their drugs.

Since 2015, their scorecard has been clear: High Poverty, High unemployment, Insecurity and propaganda.

The question is, what will you do about it?

@sugabelly They don't speak for us. These kind of acts are contemptible and there is clearly large amount of misinformation going on in the South-West in this regard, that leads to rubbish like this. Street gossip and all sort of fake news. There needs to be targeted PR to combat this.

The literacy rate in China is now 99.83%. In other words, out of every 100 people above 15 years, 99 can read and write. In 2022, the gross enrollment rate in tertiary education (university, polytechnic, etc) in China reached 59.6%.

The literacy rate in Russia is 99.70%. In Russia, about 56% of adults hold a tertiary degree, and that number is the second highest attainment rate after Canada of all OECD and partner countries, and 19% points more than the OECD average. OECD countries include the UK, US, Germany, etc. In the United States, the percentage of people with bachelor's degrees or higher is about 37.7%.

In Abia State, we go to school and attend universities just as other states and nations. But we want to borrow something big from some of these countries: put the best money on young people, not just on the post-secondary school level.  Yes, that includes developing and investing in world-class vocational education that will produce the best tilers, plumbers, electricians, etc for Nigeria and Africa in general.

I admire what they do in Togo and Chad on vocational education. You may be surprised that those nice mansions you see in Lagos, Abuja and everywhere in Nigeria would not have looked great without Togolese who are masters in tiling. Yes, we import those skills into Nigeria.
