A couple of weeks ago, we decided to remove SERIST and MOVIST from the App Store. This raised some questions so we thought we’d share some of the answers https://t.co/bZwePsOUqt
An old and difficult to maintain code base with a lot of technical debt on top of an unsustainable business model. And another app, @ripppleapp, that makes more sense and handle a lot of things better. All of that and more reasons to loose the legacy to move forward 🚀
Today, I’ve decided to remove SERIST and MOVIST from the App Store. This means you won’t be able to find and buy or see any updates to the apps anymore.
Everything, like the twitter account, the website,… will be closed on April 1st.
@theMartinCZ You’ll still be able to use it. We’re just not going to update it and sell to new users. It may break at some point with new versions of iOS but with a bit of luck it will stay useful for a while.
@ikiss68 Very old code base, difficult to maintain on my own, not a lot of free time to do so, not generating a lot of money either (which was never the first reason but helps), a lot of (free or not) alternatives, the need to focus on Rippple,…

@michellusthof@trakt Its not helping but has nothing to do with the official trakt app. It’s more about the choice between several side projects on my end.
@theMartinCZ SERIST is built on a really old code base that hasn’t been maintained in the last 2 years. I honesty think it would take less time to develop a new SERIST from scratch. It’s just too much for a side project on one person’s free-time with other side projects.

Here's a detailed post about the ongoing Trakt performance upgrades. We really appreciate everyone's patience while we figure this out.

We’ll release a detailed breakdown next week about the ongoing performance issues, what we’ve done so far, and what we’re working on. This is our top priority and we work daily on updates and fixes. Thanks for your continued patience.
We have scheduled maintenance on the Website and API tomorrow Aug 27 from 9am to 12pm PST (16:00 to 19:00 UTC). All services will be down during this time while we perform some updates.
@MMcx158 That’s when a response from trakt couldn’t be received. Can happen if you are offline or if trakt servers are under a lot of load. But a “connection” issue for sure 😅
@serenaautomates Some apps may do it and we saw some apps doing exactly how we did it. We hope Apple will provide a way to config the dark mode on a per app basis.
@great_vc It’s not gone. We had to choose to follow the iOS dark mode switch (you can configure that in the https://t.co/Vp0IAwDxhl on iOS 13). Unfortunately we can’t provide both in an easy and future proof way.
