Athlete hormonal (stress) response and associated team behaviour.
Can measuring stress hormones explain how and why intrateam/interagent behaviours emerge?

Hot off the press.
“When coach education and development does not reflect the complexity of expert coaching practice it can become a process that constrains learning and maintains cultural status-quos.”
(1) Set the highest standards for everyone;
(2) put people front and center;
(3) analyze mistakes continually—even when winning;
(4) foster an open, no-blame culture; (5) trust superstars but maintain authority;
and (6) relentlessly battle complacency https://t.co/zh60eycVWF
Diversity is smarter than homogeneity.
New data on 6.6 million science papers in all 45 subfields of medicine: mixed-gender teams generate more novel and influential work than same-gender teams.
Similarity breeds groupthink. Variety fuels deeper reflection and broader learning.
The more support team members you put around an athlete, the more noise it might create.
For every person you add, lines of communication increase, increasing the chances of:
⬆️ Confusion
⬆️ Conflicting messages
⬆️ Distraction from performance
Employers shouldn't discourage side hustles—or hesitate to hire people who have them.
Data: after engaging evenings on their side gigs, people perform better the next day in their full-time jobs.
Side hustles aren’t a distraction. They’re a source of energy and empowerment.

@AndyGoode10@AllBlacks@wallabies@bracey1988 There’s few sports around the world where there seems to be so much commentary around the performance of the officials as is the case in Rugby. Most other sports tend to focus on the performance of the players/teams competing against each other. Why is this so?
The main reason people reject science isn't political ideology. It's a lack of critical thinking.
Data: across the political spectrum, more sophisticated thinkers were generally more accurate in evaluating evidence.
Teaching reasoning skills is a key to depolarization.
Nursing is one of the most mentally, physically, and emotionally demanding jobs there is. Their work is invaluable and we must do more to recognise that both socially and financially.

Would you, and how much would you pay, for a newsletter that explains the basics how of neuroscience (and hormones) influences our behaviour in an easy to understand way?
