Without sarcasm: Mexico is a rather large country, a subcontinent if you may, that has many regions. It is quite similar to South Africa in a sense. The North of Mexico is similar to Gauteng, an industrial powerhouse, while the south of Mexico around Oaxaca, Chiapas and Guerrero is quite undeveloped and politically unstable due to massive cartel violence, and before that guerrillas. The difference in development has broken social fabric, again, similar to RSA. With multigenerational networks being fractured due to men migrating north for employment. Some then take further risk and migrate across the border for the opportunity to earn 4x or more in a more small business friendly environment. With many becoming foremen and starting construction or other small businesses to ultimately send money back to the village, similar to RSA.
