The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is overhauling the cash system to strip traditional banks of their proprietary ATMs.
They are moving toward a single, unified "white-label" ATM national utility to force transaction fees down for low-income citizens.
End of proprietary fees means Banks like FirstRand, Standard Bank, and Capitec will no longer be able to charge premium fees when customers use their proprietary ATMs.
I find this position disappointing, you seek to rouse public uproar to help you find a seat at the table where South African Family China is being stolen.
You know the person who is playing multiple roles, you can name him & find your way to his office.
Our uproar as the PUBLIC is that we don’t WANT private ownership & undue financialisation of Eskom.
Eskom must drive industrialisation & job creation.
Period.
Trump taking Venezuela’s Maduro and attacking Iran to gain leverage over China by taking away two of its largest oil import sources but China anticipating the move years ahead by building up 1.3 billion barrels in strategic reserves when oil was low and then ceasing most of its oil imports during the Iran war that ruined Trump’s plan and forced him to deplete US strategic reserves in order to drive oil back down to stop high gasoline from ruining chances in the midterms and China now happily buying back oil below 70/bbl is a wild theory that never made it to anyone’s 2026 bingo card.😅
Phil Williams. My boss’ boss at Apple. Surfer dude, feet on his desk. We guys asked each other over lunch “What does Phil do all day?”
Then Phil left.
“Oh.”
I’m sorry, Phil.
