@Joey_Covers@ldsgolfer13@sltrib Sadly, while I feel most of the country wants normal and moderate, the two-party will system will put forward extremists. I fully expect Vance and AOC in 2028.
Shout out to flight attendant Kimberly on Alaska 975 today. Row 7 had some ‘pet carrier not fitting under the seat’ drama and she handled it like a pro. Made it right for an inconvenienced passenger to move and would not back down from a safety issue. #iflyalaska
@JeffLandfield There needs to be courageous discussion about sunsetting the payouts. They’re down there arguing about cuts of $20M and ignoring a $1B+ elephant in the room. If we can’t get resource development invigorated, what choice do we have? Income tax to tax the PFD?
@ForrestDunbarAK @aleks_pfaffe State has similar laws not enforced (no political will). I suspect an agency would back down from anyone that wanted to put up even a little bit of a fight on it. I am sure there is a process to follow and trespassers not adhering to it in removing signs could risk prosecution.
@tomhewittnews @ak_jw You can’t get a raw whole chicken for twice that amount! It’s the best deal around. Costco uses it just to get people in the store, because everyone knows you can’t get out of there for less than $100.
@tomhewittnews@adndotcom I don’t know much about your industry @tomhewittnews but I know these are lean times for journalists and paid (especially print) media. Admitting mistakes and committing to do better is all you can do. Onward!
@tomhewittnews Remember when you couldn’t buy airline tickets from anyone but a travel agent? I bet in 1995 you couldn’t buy tickets online but soon after maybe?
@tomhewittnews “Up to individual preference” flows better than “up to a person’s preference.” Or “a unique individual” also suggests a little more than “a unique person.” (Former might suggest ultra unique?!) Not saying it doesn’t work though. I agree with “individuals” as too formal.
@tomhewittnews I didn’t vote for RCV because I didn’t think people could understand it. But it’s not hard to understand. The reason I like it is you have somewhat of an ability to vote against some people by ranking others. It gives moderates more of a voice. Everything in moderation! 😉
State and local leaders across the country continue to put historic resources from the infrastructure law to use improving infrastructure.
I look forward to continued engagement on projects that will transform our transportation future.
@tomhewittnews I wish commenting (direct on site or social) was just more informed. People often don’t read the content, build on comments above, and speak based on misinformation. When you try to correct that (in same forum), you’re attacked. Discouraging that there is no public discourse.
