Thank you dear @magyarpeterMP for the invitation to join you in Budapest to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.

The Hungarians’ deep yearning for independence and self-determination found renewed expression in 1989, when Hungarians were pioneers in removing the Iron Curtain.

It also guided Hungary’s decision to join the European Union in 2004 - a crucial step in the reunification of Europe.

The courage of those who rose up in 1956 continues to inspire all who cherish freedom, democracy, and the right of free peoples to self-determination.

Kyrylo Budanov 🇺🇦 - "Everyone understands this is a collapse.

Putin has reached a dead end: he can neither end the war nor win it.

Victory is no longer possible for objective reasons.

But to stop the war would mean admitting that Russia is not as strong or as great as he wanted."

Budanov’s point is that Putin is trapped by the war he created. He cannot achieve the victory he promised, but ending the war would expose the failure behind Russia’s imperial myth.

That is why Moscow keeps fighting. Not because it has a real path to victory, but because admitting defeat would mean admitting that Ukraine broke the image of Russian power Putin built his regime around.

EU Member States are serious about protecting the @IntlCrimCourt and a world governed by international law.

In The Hague, I met ICC President Tomoko Akane to convey the EU’s strong support for the Court, its judges, and their work.

The European Council has expressed its deep regret over the U.S. announcement to impose sanctions against the ICC and has urged to reverse them.

The EU will use the next six months for dialogue, to find a solution and explore what more we can do to help the Court.

The Sakharov Prize recognises the ICC’s vital work in giving victims of the gravest crimes a voice. The Court must remain able to pursue justice independently, free from pressure or intimidation.

Ukraine’s future security is tied to Belarus’s freedom. I want our country to be a trusted neighbour and a strong partner for Ukraine.

A ceasefire will not remove the danger while Russia can use our territory to launch another attack. Lasting peace must include the withdrawal of Russian troops and weapons from Belarus and respect for our sovereignty.

That is why Belarus must be part of any plan for lasting peace in Europe. A free Belarus would help protect Ukraine’s independence and make Europe safer.

Finland is a leader of the Shelter Coalition, and we have an agreement to work within this Coalition to secure additional funding for shelter construction in Ukraine. Construction is already underway in different regions of our country – various projects. Some will be completed in the near future, while others are more complex – particularly shelters in hospitals – and are still under construction. We are also placing emphasis on providing mobile shelters.

The fact is that the Shelter Coalition has begun its work. We agreed that Finland will try to organize an international meeting with other countries participating in the Coalition. There are currently 16 members, and the Coalition will expand. We need meetings and formats to secure more funding for these unquestionably important projects. Of all countries in Europe, Finland has the greatest experience and the highest quality of shelter construction.

I said this during a press conference with Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo.

“We are grateful to Denmark for its quick and effective response to our request for additional ammunition. This speed matters directly for strengthening Ukraine’s air defence and protecting people from Russian air attacks,” Minister of Defence Evgeniy Khmara said.

Aviation, and the F-16 in particular, is currently one of the most effective means of countering jet-powered Shaheds. Destroying them effectively requires sufficient stocks of ammunition.
