@BasedMikeLee Because they deny many fundamental doctrines long held by the Christian Church such as the view on creation, sin, salvation, and most importantly the person of Christ.
@EcciusMaximus This doesn’t follow. The Scriptures are the authoritative Word of God given by God for our instruction and hope (Rom 15:4, 2 Tim 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
The church’s authority is only right in as much as it aligns with God in His Word. Anything apart from that is in vain.
@HolyRebellion11 "As man now is, God once was; as God now is, man may be" - Lorenzo Snow, 5th LDS President
When the ultimate aim is to be a god yourself, like Yahweh, then you misunderstand God, man, sin, the gospel entirely. @plattdavid doesn’t misunderstand you. He understands and rejects it.
@thattradgal Mary does not crush the head of the serpent. Please know your Bible better than that.
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)
@BillArnoldTeach “God accepted the temporal atonement each year of the sacrifices goats and bulls for the sins of the people and priests.
So a “single offering” can’t be sufficient for the forgiveness of sins.”
This uses the same logic, but also isn’t true.
@BillArnoldTeach No, I didn’t. You missed my point entirely.
What Paul spoke and wrote to them drove the traditions formed. What Paul delivered orally was also in line with what was delivered in written form.
Thus our teaching and tradition should align with the Word. What is wrong with this?
@BillArnoldTeach The oral teaching or letters from Paul, Timothy, and Silvanus (aka the Scriptures) are where the traditions referenced here come from.
Thus, any traditions worth holding to are in alignment with the word or letters received.
@MarshawnTL Funny thing is, that is not her position. At least represent the position well before opposing it.
On another note, what is a child of God according to the Bible?
