It is an honour to be voted the debate winner this evening, and it shows it is the Social Democrats' plan that has the backing of the people of Ireland.

To Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil; people clearly want Mr Perfect.

When Fianna Fáil proposed the Party Regulatory Act, I backed it out of sheer loyalty to Ireland, and to ensure no holder of public office holds another on foreign soil.

VicOBrien voted against it.

Fine Gael is getting desperate.

The fact that they have to bring up an event that happened over a year ago is baffling. Since then, I have proved my loyalty to Ireland through 7 months of dedicated public service both in government and from the opposition benches.

And if they want to talk about Fine Gael as a party that 'always stands with Ireland', their entire slogan on the matter would be debunked once people look into their previous leader's record, and how VicOBrien stayed quiet on the matter.

She only speaks up when it benefits her.

The Social Democrats are the only logical choice in this election, having the experience and the plan to make Ireland succeed.

It has been an honour to serve as TD for Dublin North and as the country's Tánaiste over this term.

I look very much forward to the upcoming campaign, and I hope to be given the privilege to serve my constituents and the country once again after the election.

As a person who has worked with Ognian closely over the past 8 months, I want to say what an honour it has been to work with a man so dedicated to his job and to the people of Ireland.

As he leaves the position of Party Leader, I wish him nothing but the best for the future.
