@am3rica1st43v3r @1Nicdar The reasoning is because you made the contribution pre tax. It’s as if you had been making a 401k contribution. That money hasn’t been taxed yet. Having said that, there should be no tax on any income whatsoever but that is the reasoning behind SS tax (which Trump has decreased).

@wave1martian @xxyllinn Understandable misinterpretation and I agree that nepotism and social clout play a role but that’s true in all socio economic systems throughout history. Let’s face it, we hook our kids up if we can. All we can do is stack the deck to our advantage with the tools we have.
