A few days ago, Marxists at OP Jindal Global Univ organized a talk on Brahmanical Hindutva Fascism, where a student called for the destruction of the Ram Mandir and the erection of a mosque over it.

Today, she was suspended and escorted out of the hostel, similar to how Mahua Moitra was removed from the parliament.

Wasting your career on Marxist ideas in 2024 is the peak of fooIishness. No sympathies. She should now join the farmers' protest to keep the revolution going. Lal Salaam.

Marxist commie students org Revolutionary Student League (RSL) at O.P. Jindal Institute organized an event "Ram Mandir: A Farcical Project of Brahmanical Hindutva Fascism". The event was attended by some 6-7 organizers, apparently disrupted by 20-30 'Sanghi' students who raised Jai Sri Ram slogan.

The 'angry' commie student later posted this video on Instagram saying that the only solution to this Brahmanical Fascism is militant resistance.

This is not the first time such controversy has erupted. Why the institute is becoming a breeding ground for potential militants, in the name of FoE?

Promoting academic freedom and fostering a supportive environment for young individuals are essential in equipping them with the capacity to strengthen the constitutional and national underpinnings of our nation. It is critical that academic establishments resolutely oppose the infiltration of divisive and undemocratic politics onto their campuses. These elements not only cause the institution irreparable harm, but also cast a negative light on the welfare of the nation and the global community.Jindal University has recognised and accepted its academic accountability and responsibility. This reminds me of Lawrence Martin who stated,

“The research mission of universities should not be exempt from assessment and accountability because it is both expensive and vital to national competitiveness.”

Recognising the seriousness of the circumstance, the university holds the incident in deep regret. I hope such incidents will not happen in future and university will make a steadfast commitment to taking proactive measures to prevent similar incidents and ensure that students, particularly female students, are not subjected to the hardships and vulnerability from such conducts.

The Vice Chancellor of the O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), Sonipat, has found the allegations of “VIOLATIONS of PRIVACY, SAFE SPACE and CONFIDENTIALITY of STUDENTS which Professor Dalwai was duty bound to protect and promote” and “HARASSMENT of students by DISCRIMINATING them on the basis of IDEOLOGY and RELIGION” (affecting particularly HINDU students) made against PROFESSOR (DR.) SAMEENA DALWAI to be prima facie established and has recorded that Professor Dalwai has admitted the violations in her deposition made to the show-cause notice issued by the university.

It is the mandate of the POSH Act to address the issue of sexual harassment faced by women in the workplace, which includes all colleagues, staff members and students of the institute and the university is bound to provide all legislative protections to them. In Vishakha v. the State of Rajasthan (1997), the Supreme Court had mandated the state to address sexual harassment at workplace including educational institutions and to provide safeguards for protection, to promote the fundamental rights of women. Apart from legislative enactments and UGC Guidelines, after the Kaushal Kishor v. State of U.P. (2023) judgment of the Supreme Court’s Constitution Bench, through the horizontal-application fundamental rights to freedom of speech and expression under Article 19 and fundamental right to privacy under Article 19 and Article 21, the obligations to prevent and protect against sexual harassment and provide safeguards for protection equally extend to private educational institutions.

Taking this legislative and constitutional mandate further, the university has issued a warning to Professor Dalwai. The commission will further investigate the incidents and the action taken by the university on a detailed report received from the university, keeping in examination whether proportionate and sufficient actions have been taken in light of the various violations committed by Professor Dalwai.
