To understand the current strain on South Africa’s immigration infrastructure is to realize that Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela predicted these fractures years ago. With her deep emotional intelligence and firsthand connection to the grassroots, she understood that a country cannot sustain unlimited pressure on its public resources.

She courageously warned the ANC that neglecting border integrity would inherently weaken the protections meant for legitimate refugees and asylum seekers. She loved the African philosophy of Ubuntu, but she knew that a home must have firm walls to remain safe.
