((yelling from the rooftops)) if anyone out there is ever looking to have a bird, consider a pigeon rather than something like a parrot!!
theyre much better suited for living with people (you dont have to worry about mentally fucking them up), you can fully pet them and-
@JacanaJones We kayaked out to get a better view. We each went on opposite sides of the sand spit to optimize views. Having been on the brighter side, I was able to better document the orange at the base of the bill.
This is an interesting web based app… you input any eBird checklists, and it gives you weather data for the selected location at that time. Cool to look back at old lists etc… seems fairly reliable

Thanks American Birding Podcast for being my top podcast on @Spotify this year. I loved all 5,818 minutes of it. #SpotifyWrapped https://t.co/gydaoEb0no
Phenomenal. Bar-tailed Godwit has broken its own record: a first-year bird (five months old!) has flown 13,560 km—just shy of the direct flight limit of a Boeing 787—from Alaska to Tasmania, seemingly non-stop, in just 11 days (avg. speed: c.51 km/hr).

Accepted! "Acoustic similarity of flight calls corresponds with composition and structure of mixed-species flocks of migrating birds: Evidence from a 3-D microphone array." 🌙🎶🐦
Coming soon to Philosophical Transactions B. By Zach Gayk and me. Congratulations Zach!

Another favourite photo of mine.
I found this Black Swallowtail caterpillar at Ojibway Prairie. It munched away on the only flower that stuck way out from the rest.
