No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai is one of those books I highly recommend, while simultaneously warning you not to read it. If that makes any sense.

The quote is the opening line of No Longer Human (1948), the final completed novel by Japanese author Osamu Dazai and one of the most influential works of modern Japanese literature.

The original Japanese title, Ningen Shikkaku, literally translates to “Disqualified as a Human Being.” The novel follows Ōba Yōzō, a man who hides his fear of others behind humor and a cheerful façade while privately struggling with profound alienation, shame, addiction, and the belief that he is incapable of living as an ordinary human being.

Widely considered semi-autobiographical, the novel closely parallels Dazai’s own life. He completed it just months before his death in 1948.

Still looking for somewhere else to continue my academic research on Monitaling and Evaluation in Public sector(My interest is mainly in the cases of Japan)Are there any PhD or other courses recommended? I would like to join in 2-3years if possible.

ODA in Japan is evaluated from a various angles by multiple players such as Ministry and other administrative agencies;however, no integrated one exists. It's as a result of each goal suitability. Now I feel some integration is required creating the new relatively bigger goal.
