9) I was scared to go back. It cost me money, not being able to be near a computer or have reliable internet. I guess I was hoping I'd land a job during this time that would fix things. But soon I had trouble affording the room I had been staying in.

And then I was homeless.

"Ah, yeah, fuckin' hot!" he slurred. You could smell the piss on him at the end of the hallway. I'm walking to my room. He's always there, always drunk, always with something to say.

I ignore him. Then he follows me.

8) It got one of them to back off at least, and the other was too piss-drunk 24/7 to be much of a threat on their own.

Still...I knew I wasn't safe there. Had trouble sleeping. Had to just...go anywhere else. So I couch surfed, slept in my car sometimes.
