What do you notice? What do you wonder? Homegrown algebra lesson in the works for Alg 1 Ss! This is the teaching I enjoy and want to do more of after break @kmccannu32 @DrewJunkins @u32zookeeper
@dr_costello answering tonight What is learning? 1) “Readily Available from memory” 2) “supports future meaning-making” #makingmathstick#vctm @VermontMath
Dusting off my Twitter to share a cool task in development by @DrewJunkins and I for Geo Ss. Combining my love of powerlifting w/ love of teaching Geo. Thx @ddmeyer. The 3-act model getting some heavy use during this time of remote learning. Engages Ss (and clearly) teachers too!
(during proactive circle prompt as transition back from break, into new unit of study on area/volume: OVERRATED OR UNDERRATED: Brownies?) Can you tell what side I took??
Kids surely knew what was going on, as we have been practicing all unit engaged in hot debate as our proactive circle/warmup questions such as... “What makes something a salad?” “Is water wet?” “Are Snowdays worth it?” Valid claims and reasoning always expected! #proofswarmup
Having a bit of fun with proficiency-based learning/proofs. No such thing as a LEVEL 5 but surely did ask Ss this on a summative assessment 😁 #proofs#geometry#mathteacher#math
Getting ready to @breakoutEDU with Geometry Ss prior to break for summative review. Engagement and collaboration off the charts! Have to admit I have a lot of fun “hiding” clues too @DrewJunkins @u32zookeeper @U32library
