The great classroom display debate! What are your thoughts on classroom displays? Do you feel for the effort they take, they have much impact on learning in the classroom?

@UhmitsMissB I remember looking years ago… There was a company who used to do them. They were either very pricey or they stopped making them. We ended up with drawing the lines on the page each day…
Really fiercely believe that all primary schools should have marking policies that mean teachers don’t need to sit marking for ages at the end of the day & *definitely* don’t need to take books home or look at them in the holidays. This is the opening paragraph I wrote for ours.
- Unhappiest kids in Europe
- Fewer children than ever reading for pleasure
- School buildings crumbling
- less than half the target of teacher trainees
- Biggest retention crisis
- Morale in the profession the lowest ever
- Ofsted…
The list goes on.
They’re delusional
My wellbeing in school is determined by how much I feel valued, included and supported.
If I feel part of a team, all working together towards the same goals.
Nothing to do with cakes in the staffroom!
@WhistleblowingT I was M3 8 years ago and got about £150 a day so ide very much expect to be on more than that now.

@_MissieBee Last year we told Y6 that the DfE were break times due to lost learning in Covid. They had to persuade why this was a bad idea. Great debates and discussions were had.
@MissB_Yr6@NatashaMrsSmith Don’t be too hard on yourself. I’d focus on certain subjects to put more in, and certain focus pupils to put that extra in. You can’t mark all subjects and push each and every child on effectively 100% of the time. It’s impossible and you’ll burn out.
@MissB_Yr6@NatashaMrsSmith I think live marking in English when you can is very effective. It means more to the child and you can explain your point. Obvs assessed writing takes longer. My school have removed ticking or pointless marking so we can focus on the important, meaningful marking.
