Consumption tax has to be same for the whole population. Remove income tax disparity. Agriculture income is not taxed. Why ? Why much of economy is still cash based ? Why ? Why organised corporate sector get away with a lot of employee remuneration hidden as reimbursements ?
If you think deeply enough, you will yourself see the answer clearly. Point is, you need to think objectively, and evaluate based on contribution towards Bharatvarsha.
Prof, you are wrong in reading the situation. The present triumvirate of NSC, CDS and MoD are quite capable collectively, the reforms are kicking in but it will take many years for the middle level officers to gain experience and expertise in working in united theatre commands.
It was Modi who, with fanfare, announced the creation of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) institution in 2019. And it is Modi who — since the death of the first CDS, General Bipin Rawat, in a tragic helicopter crash in 2021 — slowly but steadily has hollowed out that very institution, with the just-announced appointment of the next CDS only confirming how disastrously the CDS experiment has veered off course. Both the authority and purpose of the CDS institution have been eroded by the government that set it up.
Modi created the CDS post to establish a “single-point military adviser” capable of providing impartial tri-service advice and reducing bureaucratic barriers between the armed forces and the prime minister. Yet the government has increasingly transformed the office into a politically managed bureaucratic position within the Ministry of Defence.
As the BJP slogan aptly says, “Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai” (When Modi is there, anything is possible).
Bachpan waala India.
Regardless of the weather, our dinner time was at 7:00 PM and bed time was 10:00
Eating out at a restaurant was a huge deal, a rarity actually, that only happened when it was a birthday or a very special occasion to celebrate.
There was no such thing as fast food on every other day, and having a bottle of soft drinks and an ice-cream from the local shop was a real treat. Pass your final exams and you might have gotten a new set of clothes, or Bata shoes.
You took your school clothes off as soon as you got home and put on your ‘home’ clothes. There was no taking or picking you up in the car, you either boarded the school bus or rode on public transport, or just walked home. You got home did your chores and homework before dinner.
Not everyone had a house phone and much later, all private conversation were at PCO booth's.
We didn’t have appletv AmazonPrime or Netflix. We had only Doordarshan to watch. Jungle Book came once a week on a Sunday and Chhaya Geet on Thursday’s, for which we waited all week.
We played chor police, lappa chuppi, Football, Cricket, lagori, dabba ice-spice (actually it was “I spy”) Marbles and any other game we could come up with... At home, we stuck to chess, ludo, snakes and ladders and Monopoly.
Staying shut in the house was a PUNISHMENT and the only thing we knew about "bored" was --- "You better find something to do before I find it for you!"
Life was good without insta, facebook, twitter.
Followers were the friends standing behind you.
We played music via magnetic tapes or radio. A walkman was a luxury for the uber rich.
We went to the local shop for groceries and chiclets, jeera goli, kismi used to be a couple of paise.
We ate what Mum made for dinner and put in our lunch and snack box.
Bottled water was non existent. We drank from the school water filter.
We called our friends from home by shouting their names from the street below.
We weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING. We played until dark... sunset was our alarm.
If someone had a fight, that's what it was and we were friends again a day later if not SOONER.
We watched our mouths around our elders because all of our aunts, uncles, grandpas, grandmas, and our parents' best friends were all extensions of our PARENTS and you didn't want them telling your parents you’d misbehaved! Or they would give you something to cry about.
We respected the Police, Firemen, Ambulance workers, Teachers, Doctors and Nurses.
We never answered back... ever!!!
We got detention at school for not doing homework, no hair cut, being late to class or being naughty.
Our teachers spanked us when we deserved it and our parents did not complain about it.
We did not know what luxury was. Our simple lives were so good.
Those were the good days. So many kids today will never know how it feels to be a real kid 😁.
I loved my childhood and all the friends I hung around with.
Congrats, if you are from the same generation...
😁🌹🤗
Point is deeper than what you think. Do you need a guru ? What stops you from acquiring the knowledge and wisdom through self-learning, aka auto-didacticism ?
Who is the best spiritual guru in today’s India?
I see million babas but no one of class of Osho or Swami Vivekananda or Jiddu Krishnamurti or Sri Aurobindo.
All these hero-worshipping emanate from age old tendency among humans to control and dictate the popular narrative. By sometimes in singing praises of rich & powerful people, sometimes in romanticising the actions of people who undertake projects of ‘redistribution of wealth’ .
It's crazy to me how Robin Hood is now popularized as "stealing from the rich to give to the poor"
(Socialist messaging)
In reality, Robin Hood stole back the taxes that a cruel leader unjustly levied against the population
(Anti-socialist messaging)
Guess who is on left of then Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw (1970)
Hint - He is very popular in Indian news channel discussions nowadays 😎
You are spot on in reminding that today’s india is free, independent, proud and aspirational towards future. With over 74% literacy and fairly robust , vibrant and educated middle class and fully aware youth, selling old tales of past leaders does not work.
@Swamy39 Sir hardly anyone watches the Republic Day Parade nowadays. 90% of India doesn't remember Gandhi, Nehru ,netaji or Patel. Very few people watch television nowadays, times have changed its all fast forwarded now, so quit taunting Modi it'll slow down your exit from Earth.
Jack up intake of protein to 50 % of total intake keeping carbs below 100 gms a day and rest can be saturated fats. In strength training go for compound lifts, squats and pull-ups and floor pushups. You will become your own version of Ubermensch !
My fitness tips!
1)Sleep by 9.30 pm, wake up at 4.30 am.
2)Quit deep fried food, Limit eating out.
3)Run 7 km -5 times a week, long run limited to 15km.
4)Strength training twice a week.
5)Trek every quarter.
6)No refined sugar, no pastries, cakes, sweets.
7)Brush Teeth by 6 pm.
Endurance running makes one fit from cardio pov but poor in mascular upper body strength. Wisdom lies in hybrid training with mix of cardio and strength training on different days and ensuring that protein intake is more than adequate.
I think for health benefits, 10k running 3 to 4 times a week in zone 2 is fine, in addition to strength training of 45 minutes for 2 days and one day of rest.
People run half marathons, full marathons and ultra marathons not for any health benefits, but they like bigger challenges, or sometimes due to peer pressure, social media, FOMO, etc. 🤗
