A little 11 year ols boy broke through a closet wall and jumped from a 2nd story window to get away from the woman who adopted him.
That's how Newnan, Georgia finally learned what Chloe Jackson-Jones had been doing to him for years.
* She adopted him in 2019.
* She pulled him out of public school, then claimed she was "homeschooling" him.
* Behind closed doors, she starved him, locked him up and abused him.
* July 2023: a neighbor found him on the street, hungry.
* He weighed 61 pounds.
* Sept. 30: she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, 2 counts of false imprisonment and 17 counts of first-degree child cruelty.
* Her sentence: 40 years in prison, then 20 years of probation.
It took this kid 3 years to get justice. WTF.
The DA said the punishment the law allows is "too good for this defendant," and his office would have sought life if Georgia law allowed it.
How does a state let a child vanish from school for years and still cap the punishment for this at 40?
The good news: he's in a stable home with a new family, making straight A's, and he stood up in court and spoke.
He survived her.
She gets 40 years to think about that.

A 25-year-old woman was abducted at gunpoint and forced into the back seat of a car.
Desperate for someone to notice, she locked eyes with two teenage boys in another vehicle and silently mouthed two wordsโฆ โHelp me.โ
17-year-old Jamal Harris and 19-year-old Aaron Arias immediately called 911 and began following the car.
The driver realized they were behind him and started speeding up, slowing down and swerving through traffic trying to lose them. But Jamal and Aaron stayed with him, continuously updating police on where the car was going.
They knew if they lost sight of it, the woman could disappear.
Police eventually caught up, surrounded the vehicle and arrested the driver. The woman was finally safe, and later embraced the teenagers who had noticed her silent plea and refused to look away.
Jamal and Aaron were just out driving that day. But because they paid attention and kept following when it would have been easier to turn away, a kidnapped woman made it home safely.
These are the types of young people the internet should be talking about. ๐
