Phumeza and Mnqobi “Shota” Mdabe’s son, Mpilo Ntsika Shoba, popularly known as DJ Influence, wowed guests with his performance on Sunday during the second day of DJ Black Coffee’s birthday celebration held in Cape Town.

The 12-year-old rising star delivered an impressive set, leaving many guests inspired by his remarkable talent and confidence behind the decks.

Despite being visually impaired due to bilateral retinoblastoma, DJ Influence has grown into a gifted young DJ with exceptional music selection and mixing skills. He lost his sight at just 16 months old, but never lost his passion for music.

He has been mentored by world-renowned DJ Black Coffee, while his father, Shota, has also played a major role in helping him learn and master DJ equipment.

DJ Influence has already showcased his talent on several platforms, with the support of his parents, and has even made his international debut in Ibiza, Spain.

Known for his sharp ear, confidence, and extraordinary ability on the decks, DJ Influence is widely regarded as a once-in-a-generation talent.
