It is not every day that you get the chance to sit with political and governance thinkers of this stature, and in the same breath speak of slums, sweepers, and everything in between.

Power corridors have always echoed the voices of the most powerful. But true democratic leadership is measured by who ensures that the most excluded are also heard in these grand conversations.

I cannot thank my brother @AhmadIqbalCh enough for consistently making sure that the weakest jamhoor feel part of the jamhuriat. Devolution is the only path through which we can move from mere representation to shared ownership of the political system, and one day, see real revolution through it.

رحیم یار خان کے سُتھرا پنجاب کے ہیروز کی ایک اور افسوسناک کہانی— تین تین، چار چار ماہ سے تنخواہوں سے محروم یہ مزدور جب احتجاج کے لیے سڑک پر آئے تو نہ صرف ان کی فریاد سننے والا کوئی نہ تھا، بلکہ ڈی سی آفس کے قریب ایک نامعلوم شخص نے ان پر ڈنڈے برسا دیے اور جوتیاں اچھال کر تذلیل کی۔

مختلف شہروں سے موصول ہونے والی اطلاعات کے مطابق سُتھرا پنجاب کے اصل ہیروز سینٹری ورکرز کو یا تو دو ماہ سے زائد عرصے سے تنخواہیں نہیں ملیں یا پھر انھیں ملنے والی تنخواہیں کم از کم اجرت کے برابر بھی نہیں ہیں۔ روزانہ دس سے بارہ گھنٹے آپکے صوبے کا گند صاف کرنے والے ورکرز کہاں جائیں؟

Least #OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) standards are observed in this job. #Sanitationworkers lack safety equipments, making them vulnerable to many diseases and injuries, reducing their life expectancy.

Behind every #sanitationworker is a story of struggle. Thousands of workers face financial instability, hired on temporary contracts and waiting months for meager wages.

It's time to recognize their dignity and demand fair treatment.

Sanitation is dangerous labour.

According to ILO globally one worker dies at least every 30 seconds. While there is no precise data related to on the job deaths of Sanitation workers.
However, various cases of deaths are reported across Pakistan while cleaning sewer lines.
