It's always "you have OCD" and never "thank you for being so anxious about the lights in the house flickering that you figure out the air conditioner fan is broken"
@Pio_Cat@CaptainVatican If you're familiar with dinner plates, that's how big a placenta is. When it detaches from a women's uterus, it leaves a large wound that takes time to heal, before you include any birth injuries/incisions/etc. A good husband would do anything to help his wife rest and recover
@Pio_Cat@CaptainVatican Your priorities as a Catholic father, in order, should be: God, your wife, your child(ren), your job. If your wife just gave birth, you should be home helping her to take the time she needs to recover, often something like 5 days in bed, 5 days on the bed, 5 days near the bed.
PCOS has always been a terrible name.
It’s outdated, medically inaccurate (those “cysts” are actually follicles), and subtly misogynistic for pinning the problem on a female organ.
Endocrinology leaders in Europe have now proposed a new name that actually reflects the biology and the metabolic nature of the condition:
PMOS – Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
This framing recognizes it as a systemic metabolic–endocrine disorder, not just “bad ovaries,” and opens the door to better, more equitable reproductive care worldwide.
You size your child up in shirts because his head is too big and then you try on the size up in pants while you're at it and they're about 6 inches too long
