Over the past few days, there has been a lot of things said about having a BAYC/MAYC vs. having a Stonkbroker

People ask: “why get an expensive monkey jpeg that doesn’t get you anything in return but a chance to buy expensive merch?”

Imo, they miss the point of BAYC

The value of BAYC doesn’t lie with expensive merch drops, nor it lies in airdrops (well, it used to). The value of BAYC lies in the network effect

Let’s use Stonkbrokers for example. A lot of the people who are cooking here got access to a free mint because they were apes and were active in ApeChain

But that’s not all there is

Let’s use me as an example. I wouldn’t be part of Bored & Hungry if it weren’t for the network I built by being in the club

BAYC has opened doors for its members to get minting opportunities, job opportunities, business opportunities, collab opportunities, travel opportunities, & life opportunities over the last 5 years

Am I saying that the network is all there is?

No. I think that at some point, BAYC has to figure out what other value should holders get by being “in the club”

What I’m saying is, don’t disregard the value of BAYC just because it doesn’t give as much monetary returns as it used to

Make no mistake, BAYC is still the gold standard of what an NFT community should look like 🦍

And yes, I happily spend $282.42 for this BAYC jacket 🙈
