@UnitedStandMUFC In a summer with a WC and teams looking to improve rosters/fit new managers, United’s strategy of hold out until best deal last minute is going to wind up them going with overpaying for 2nd and 3rd tier options or maybe worse hoping injury prone roster can survive more games.
@TheHerd@colincowherd Take lacks some context. Lakers are 1 year away from Luka being in Giannis position and potentially demanding them trade him. They don’t have draft capital or great options to reallocate money elsewhere to build contending roster. How do you sell that to Luka/fans?
@JoelMBeall @JNucci23 Wondering if profitability metric is achieved if everyone takes a pay cut and they reduce prize purses. Would completely ignore aspect of why most of the people are currently playing there.
@jasonrmcintyre made comment that Cowboys have to play Wash, Baltimore, Houston and that they were playoff teams. They were 2-years ago, not last year. Get context of QB’s dealt with injuries, but don’t think it’s fair to just assume they’d of been playoffs teams.
@TheProducerRG agree with point NFL seems to be riding the wave for Bears this year. Just think the comparison comes off odd as Lions didn’t make playoffs back before their run started, vs Bears won division were the 2seed and arguably were an OT play away from being in NFC champ
@jasonrmcintyre This is a bit misleading based off how contracts work and how $ amounts scale up for veteran all pro players. League getting closer to MLB with paying for who they use to be rather than what they might be during the deal.
@UnitedStandMUFC@TelegraphDucker This is the cheap so therefore ‘safe’ option. Will likely wind up with 1 marque overspend transfer in August for marketing and a few rotational players. Then ppl will be shocked when our injury prone players are missing months/squad depth is able to compete on multiple fronts.
@StretfordPaddck@MrStephenHowson@JoeSmith93 Being the manager to step in and secure top 5 while being out of all other competitions isn’t the same as being the right manager to lead a club in competition on multiple fronts.
@RapSheet@nflnetwork This is such a wild take given the QB’s quality compared to where he’d fall in other draft classes. He doesn’t have off the chart features and if his saving grace is McVay can develop him, that would be the argument for every qb in class with better physical traits.
@PolymarketBlitz I get his name generates clicks, but he hasn’t played a full season or had more than 50 receptions since 2019. Might as well of thrown Randy Moss’ name on that wr list as well if going to list players who won’t contribute on the field in a meaningful way.
@AdamSchefter@WinSportsGroup Unless they reworked the deal to get him equivalent of $28mil now as a signing bonus or fully guaranteed salary, he’ll never see it on the back end and this was a really shitty sell as a win by his agency
@UnitedStandMUFC Just look at Onana. United want to move however if make champions league he’ll be back to his increased wages. No one’s matching his wages given form/age. He’s not just going to leave money he’s owed as he appears on decline. Leads to last likely late loan move/no sale.
@UnitedStandMUFC Every Spring United/Media talk about how the club is going to sell all our underperforming players and get a windfall of money into the club. Reality, the guys we want to move on are either getting sent out on loan deals due to inflated valuation by United or too high wages.
@kevinwildes Not sure how it got passed given the $ associated with awards/achievements. Media seemed to make a big deal out of load management which lead to reaction by Owners and foolish decision by players. Playing less than 80% of a season does seem like a debatable amount for recognition
@jasonrmcintyre Can’t rationalize talk with conspiracy theorist. Will argue independent scientist was hired by organization who if issues is identified it would result in potentially undefinable liable to point they likely clearly identified someone/narrowed the study to produce a nothing result
@NFL_DF Isn’t this more an indictment on the quality of QB class than a pro for the player? Teams have fallen into the need to immediately address qb due to ownership, fan and media pressure. Just because he’s best or 2nd available doesn’t mean he’s necessarily a franchise qb.
@BadlandsTOJ@ConnorJRogers@JCaporoso Drafting an injury prone wr and putting them on MetLife turf just sounds like aggravated assault. WR draft next year should be loaded with top end talent or can use 33/44. With how mocks look, could trade back and get top DT. Sadiq feels better at 16 if have to draft someone.
@TheProducerRG@jasonrmcintyre In the past 25 years, how many MVP’s have played in less than 65 games outside of Covid and the lockout season? To me it’s interesting that game minimums now become a talking point by agents while tanking and load management seem to be being emphasized as a concern by Owners.
@jasonrmcintyre@TheProducerRG the 65 game threshold is a great debate topic. Should someone win MVP missing over 20% of games? Shouldn’t a trait of MVP be them playing? Should you allow ppl to vote it just based on eye test and then ignore likely bias voters will have?
