Makes sense. Legacy banks like $AXP are architected like a layered cake. At the foundation, you have your robust, battle-tested, mission-critical mainframe workhorses from the '80s/'90s. The private cloud is cost-effective for running the day-to-day, leveraging their own data centers. The top layer, the public cloud, is where they flex with cool customer-facing apps, scalability, and advanced AI/ML projects - which they can't develop in-house just yet. The line between public and private is probably very flexible, thanks to modern containerization tech, allowing them to rapidly shift workloads according to need – i.e. a “hybrid cloud”.
With Amex being a largely closed-loop network, it gives them more leeway to maintain legacy systems for longer, while adopting to the cloud. The real trick is not the tech itself, but rather in upskilling, retraining, and shifting the minds of their engineers to the cloud.
This is roughly how I'd imagine their stack…
@AnthropicAI Claude Code team: one pair of parentheses in the changelog and the entire developer world stopped spinning. SemVer remains undefeated. ❤️😅

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks (Z”L) gave the simplest explanation of antisemitism.
Watch to understand why barbaric attacks against Jews in the West unsurprisingly follow mass popular sentiment denying Israel’s right to exist.
And learn what that means for Western societies.
Hey @OpenAI & @ChatGPTapp team! Just wanted to give you a heads-up that the latest MacOS app (v1.2025.077) occasionally triggers an NSRangeException in -[NSString _newSubstringWithRange:] during text editing—probably due to an out-of-bounds substring. It seems to happen during auto-correction or undo operations in NSTextView. Hope this helps!
🫧A mini-bubble I’m seeing: non-tech founders raising seed rounds with AI-fueled delusion, thinking they’ll just AI-generate their app and never hire an engineer. No guys, sorry, it’s not that easy—at least not yet.
Here’s a fun little #DeepSeek adventure:
1️⃣ Ask why the Soviet Union ☭ wasn't such a nice place.
2️⃣ Listen as it explains centralized authoritarian governments.
3️⃣ Casually ask about other countries doing this.
4️⃣ Cue awkward silence.
Horrifying.
@OpenAI, please bless me with #o1 API access finally! 🙏✨ I swear I won’t try to reverse-engineer your chain-of-thought tech 🧠🔍… I just want to build cool products! 🚀💡 What’s an engineer gotta do around here to get some of that o1 love?! 🍪🖥️🔥
@WSJ, looks like there's either a little quirky bug in your content pipeline or your intern’s been having a little too much fun with their DIY LLM projects! 😄
Honestly, @YETICoolers and other high-end gear makers are the true winners of tech — all tech: fintech, blockchain, Kubernetes, AR, LLMs, and whatever comes next.

Someone sent me this TikTok that a young Iranian woman made about what she was seeing on social media yesterday. Please take a few minutes to watch and understand.
@JoeBiden 2024 agenda: dude, stop using C/C++ !
We obviously have much better options now. It is twenty twenty-four for heavens sake.

@mickeyxfriedman Big Data AI Kubernetes as a Service, built entirely on the blockchain.
Will it scale? You betcha.
ARR, you say? Forget revenue, we measure our success by chakras aligned.
Initially $V and $MA were in fact owned by issuing banks - $BAC and $KEY respectively. Later they were owned by consortiums of banks, before eventually becoming independent, publicly traded, entities - only relatively recently.
Today though, I bet the #FTC would block them if they ventured into issuing/acquiring again.
