Mark's telling of the triumphal entry has no mother donkey tied with the colt as does Matthew's, and no Pharisees trying to assert their authority as does Luke's. Mark allows no distractions from Jesus and the on-going praise. Mark 11:1-11

In the old Bible languages, words for hear usually mean to include some kind of action in response. But what if it was only listening that God does? (Psalm 116:1) It would still be worth our efforts to be heard and our praise. Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29

Thinking about Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem reminds me of David's triumphal entry, bringing the ark into Jerusalem. Lots of joy, shown in music, dancing, and gifts. 2 Samuel 6:12-19

They got tired of the manna! Bored with their best good. A plague of snakebite was certainly a novel thing for them. The cure for it was the old thing--trust in God, look to God and live. Numbers 21:4-9

When asked for a sign to back his authority, Jesus cited his death and resurrection. Two thousand years later, Jesus' death and resurrection are still a potent sign and worthy of all contemplation and conversation. John 2:13-22
