Last night I dreamt I was being novelised by William Goldman from his original screenplay. When I woke up I didn’t know if I was the film of the book or the book of the film. So I had a cup of tea and I was all better.
❗️People with terminal or lifelong conditions and disabilities shouldn’t have to keep proving they’re ill just to get support.
We're standing with @mariecurieuk to call on the UK government to change this, so people don't have to go through repeated stress and uncertainty.
Bizarre the government thinks ‘sick notes’ are just admin for GPs. They are an intervention. They say ‘I see you are in pain and need time for convalescence’.
The idea GPs don’t think of referring the person on for help is ludicrous. It’s having pathways funded that is missing.
Alexei Sayle's Stuff (20th October 1988). "Well, we apologise for the absence of Alexei Sayle in this week's edition of Alexei Sayle's Stuff. We're attempting to right the problem, but in the meantime the programme will continue in Leslie Crowther only".
Robinson claims his goons are trying to protect ‘women & girls’. Well, the vast majority of people at today’s anti-racism march were women. Mostly white women. This is who Tommy Robinson’s thugs were attempting to attack by circumventing cordons and assaulting police officers.
I'd give anything not to be #disabled any more. Not because I could climb trees again or have a day without incontinence - it'd be simply so I could live my days without being in fear of the Government. That's what I dream of - not running happily through fields, but of peace.
Stop with the *genuinely disabled* crap. Who decides who is “genuinely disabled”? Ableists apparently think they can. News flash: There is no hierarchy of disability. There is no “genuine disabled vs. not genuinely disabled”. You’re either disabled or you’re not.
Dear @reformparty_uk
You cannot register as disabled.
You should be absolutely nowhere near policy around disabled people.
Absolutely nowhere near it or us.
Yours,
Everyone with a spark of humanity.
There is no crisis in the UK’s welfare budget. There’s a surplus due to unclaimed benefits.
Whipping away vital financial support from the sick & disabled is a political choice, not a financial one.
So the question is, why do @UKLabour hate the disabled?
#CareNotCuts
Public service announcement for reform fans on minimum wage . I’ve had 2 operations for cancer plus radiotherapy . Cost to me £0 . Farage wants an American insurance based system . Cost there $150000 . Can you afford the monthly premiums??? Think carefully before you vote .
I do not believe any of the 10 members of the DWP’s new Independent Disability Advisory Panel will be representative of us as disabled people, as they will have agreed to sign a non-disclosure agreement—effectively colluding in blocking transparency and enabling we-know-best-ism.
