@SamuelAAdams This is such a good point. The transition isn’t the hard part, it’s that you keep trying to find the magical sentence to tie together two ideas that don’t actually work. I’ve circled that hoop so many times
@SamuelAAdams Have you seen Nick Cave’s response to someone asking about musician’s who use ChatGPT to write their songs? It is genius and I reread it often.
I loved having this essential conversation with Jennifer Siebel Newsom about the importance and value of caregiving and why we need to support women and families. And I even left feeling optimistic!
I started California for ALL Women to partner with Californians and center the needs of women and families to build a state where women thrive as they live, work, raise their children, and retire in the Golden State.
@SamuelAAdams To me the show starts with “Angel.” It’s the first time I realized a girl fighting vampires was a metaphor for the struggle to feel normal in high school, right down to the fact that Buffy’s crush turns out to be one. And then nothing prepares you for Innocence in S2 …
@gailcornwall@Slate@thom_curran@JonHaidt@FreeRangeKids Would love to hear more about how collective action could shift this — more rec and community centers, free drop in classes that didn’t have to be weekly obligations, etc.
@ehanford Is this new reporting since Columbia Teachers College parted ways with Calkins, or follow up on some of the stories on your original podcast? I loved it so much and, as the parent of a dyslexic child, it was painful to listen to. Thanks for all you do
@KJWinEducation@kymyona_burk Having interviewed both you for the Chronicle, I am so so happy to see you together in conversation and dialogue. Both of you are heroes in the fight to ensure that every child is America is actually taught how to read. Thank you.
Thank you. Blaming teachers for a curriculum that doesn’t actually teach kids to read is pretty out of touch. I feel for teachers who were trained in a method that doesn’t work and then blamed for it.
