Interesting thread. I can never understand why we don't make more of Jony Ive having grown up in Staffordshire. Educated at Walton High in Stafford, he's an incredible success story.
@James_Treadwell@UniofStaffs not forgetting those who go to work in Forensics whether with the Police or with private forensic providers. Some fantastic students some of whom came back last week to talk about their experiences with @Jennyamphlett@NorthfieldDean and myself.
I’m chuffed to start a new position as Director of Commercial Strategy @UniofStaffs. I’m proud to be leading the fantastic teams overseeing our Events and Conferencing, Catering, Sport, Business Villages, Development and Alumni Relations and award-winning Children’s Nursery.
Well done Dean Northfield, Martyn Hordern, Adam Newberry, @sfpforensics and co for making today happen. In a change to the previous format today included expert panels and a Q&A, all with alumni as the expert guests.
🧵We welcomed 10 @UniofStaffs forensics alumni onto campus today for the fifth annual Journeys Into Forensics event. An audience of 80 students gained industry insights and advice on everything from securing a work placement to dealing with the stress of an often harrowing job.
A frontline officer has decided to hang up his uniform & retire from our force family after more than three decades of dedicated service to the communities of Staffordshire.

@James_Treadwell For younger in service officers perhaps a sign that its no longer a job for life. They will have a degree qualification and some great transferable skills. Not sure this is the level of churn that was mentioned in the past as a positive.
And just like that another open day all done and dusted. Rain has stopped and the sun is breaking through. Great effort by @StaffsPolice forensics staff and @StaffsUni students and staff.
Are you able to help us identify these men?
We want to talk to them in connection with the violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August.
If you can help us identify them, please get in touch using the Major Incident Public Portal: https://t.co/4X1GreyBxr
Great to be in attendance at The Investigator CPD event @StaffsUni. A real collaborative event and well done to Insp Chris Hood to get the event here. Opportunity's also for students to showcase their work.
Slightly different working day today. Over at Burton Police Station with colleagues from @StaffsPolice Forensics as part of a Forensics Promotion Day. Looking forward to meeting lots of officers and staff.
