While this city pays income tax amounts more than certain states
While the city pays GST more than certain states put together.
City GDP would be more than half of the country’s cities.
We have envious factories and manufacturing units.
When you get an outsider to become MLA, when you make inexperienced ppl as mayor and when you have leadership which can’t win trust of the ppl and focus on some shit idea like building a 2km road for 250 crores then you will get this only.
Ppl on the ground are so angry. You tell this to local BJP guys and the arrogance is sky high.
As a well wishes and kattar supporter, I have done my bit of informing the pulse. Kasba was a start, this city is slipping away from BJP soon if corrective measures are not taken.
That’s the truth. Have ears to ground. Don’t attack me. Attack the situation.
An excellent point by @rajshah! cutting down emissions and consumption patterns in development world 🌎 is were we need to concentrate our efforts and not just lecturing low and middle-income countries on cutting down emissions.
The fight for whether or not the Earth stays at 1.5° Celsius will be won or lost in low -or middle-income countries. Listen to my interview on @CNN to learn how @energyalliance's Global Leadership Council is reducing the costs of renewable energy access in developing countries.
The killing of two mobsters, says @nytimes, "renews alarm about India’s slide toward extrajudicial violence." Police killings in the US, including in supposed encounters with unarmed motorists, easily rank the highest in the world, averaging more than 1,000 annually in recent years. But NYT has never reported about US's lurch toward "extrajudicial violence."

Dear #Pune, 200 m walk to the cab pickup, & then 500 m after the new terminal begins operation, is nothing to complain about. There is an elevator+ escalator + golf carts for those in need + travellators planned.
We need to get rid of the mindset of complaining all the time.
Issues are there at the airport & a lot needs to be done. Cab pick up point can get crowded & solution needs to be found. But the administration needs to be appreciated for the work they are doing. They are human after all with the right intent. Building trust between citizens & administration is crucial.

Indians have more hunger and less happiness than Pakistan and Sri Lanka. We have less press freedom than Hong Kong and Namibia. We are less of a democracy than Cyprus and Lithuania. Does any sane Indian believe this nonsense? Anyone wondering what these index makers are smoking?
I bought canned coconut water from a vending machine in Delhi airport. It turns out imported coconut water. Coconut farmers have been hurting due to low prices in the South. Our farmers don't take part in the higher value markets like this example and we have to enable them to.

The 100+ million tribal population in India remains at the extreme economic bottom. The Eklavya Schools (EMRS) is a set of 392 boarding schools in tribal districts. Great to see all that @DakshanaIndia is doing for India's tribes. Two tribal-only focused campuses coming soon!

From "mighty" West to "infallible" China, no country has been able to bear the onslaught of the pandemic without shortages of medicines/equipment/ICUs and overflowing morgues.
But only in India did we see media hyenas cackle with such glee at the misery of their countrymen.
