CONCACAF follows UEFA in rejecting his divisive plan. So that’s 41 + 55 national associations of the 211 against. So far. Strong statement from CONCACAF, echoing UEFA’s. The confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football convened meeting of its 41 members to discuss the “FIFA Forward Enterprise”, Infantino’s plan “to sell interests in the FIFA World Cup to private investors”.

Infantino’s handling of the process, rushing decision-making, drew criticism. “During the meeting, the membership expressed deep concerns about the lack of due process surrounding the proposal, the artificially short deadline imposed, and the absence of any review or approval by the relevant FIFA governance bodies. In addition, the need for private equity investment to fund new and existing FIFA Forward programs following the most profitable FIFA World Cup in history was questioned. The discussion reinforced the need for greater transparency and proper governance.”

So CONCACAF and its 41 members…

Tasked their FIFA Council Members with engaging FIFA to determine how existing FIFA reserves could be used to increase FIFA Forward funding for football development across our region;

But here's your problem: your worldview is so one-dimensional that you cannot conceive of two things being true at the same time. You assume that because I criticised your platform for its refusal to see and reflect South Africa as it truly is, then I cannot criticise someone else for odious conduct.

It is not complicated if arguments are based on principle. But it seems that's a level of nuance that is beyond you.

You are too far up your arse and lack the epistemic humility to see that. A pity because you ARE a good financial journalist and your insights are compelling. Likely to fail. Each national FA has 1 vote in FIFA, meaning UEFA totals about 1/4 of the votes. Infantino prolly has majority within that structure, so ending his control of global game would more likely depend on what pressure is mustered against that structure

Eddie Howe is set to leave his position as Newcastle United head coach, with Matthias Jaissle of Al Ahli poised to replace him.

Howe decided to remain at St. James’ Park at the end of last season but has since had a change of heart and will depart in the coming days after five years in charge.
